SAP Business Suite 7 to S/4HANA – March 26

Transitioning SAP from on- premises to the Cloud

SAP is repositioning from being an ERP vendor to a cloud-enabled operating platform. SAP’s objective is the standardisation of process logic by eliminating SAP Business Suite 7 running on-premises and migrating processing logic to S/4HANA.

Accommodating SAP’s strategy requires a fundamental re-engineering of a organisations core processes.

Business Suite 7 has been around for nearly two decades and in all organisations Business Suite 7 will have been extended and customised to meet specific organisational requirements. Transitioning from Business Suite 7 to S/4HANA represents the re-implementation of an organisation’s core processes. To ensure behavioural equivalence during the transition process, a Topology Control Plane is required to continuously monitor the executing semantics of the pre-and post-implementation states.

The following link provides access to to a paper detailing how the Topology Control Plane may be introduced and how behavioural equivalence of the two implementations may be assured throughout the transition process.
